Van Crime Solutions was founded by Toby — a man who had his own vans broken into twice and decided to do something about it. What started as one man's frustration is now a six-strong family team protecting tradespeople across Kent, Essex and London.

Our Story

Why Toby built VCS

It was the second break-in that did it. Toby came out to his Transit one morning to find the side door hanging open, his tools gone — again. The first time, he chalked it up to bad luck. The second time, he got angry and got busy.

Toby had already spent over a decade in the wider security industry — installing burglar alarms, CCTV, access control systems, and gate automation. He understood exactly how break-ins happened and, more importantly, what actually stopped them. He knew the weak points of factory van locks. He knew which products genuinely worked and which were marketing dressed up as security.

So he built Van Crime Solutions. A company focused entirely on vans. Not alarms, not domestic security — just vans, done properly. Every product we use, every installation method we follow, every guarantee we stand behind — it all comes from Toby's own experience of losing tools and the determination that no other tradesman should have to go through it.

From a single fitter in Kent, VCS has grown into a six-strong team covering Kent, Essex and London, with a workshop in Rochester and technicians that come to you — seven days a week.

Toby started VCS after his own vans were broken into twice. With over a decade in the broader security industry — burglar alarms, CCTV, access control, and gate automation — he brings a depth of knowledge that goes far beyond fitting locks. He personally oversees every major installation and sets the standard for everything the team does. When a product doesn't fit a van out of the box, Toby finds a way to make it work.

Senior Technician

Will is Toby's son and has grown up around the trade. He's been working alongside his dad since the early days of VCS, and there's very little he hasn't seen on a van. Fast, methodical, and meticulous about the finish — Will is the man customers ask for by name. He's particularly strong on Transit Custom and Vivaro installs, and handles a significant portion of VCS's fleet account work.

On the tools, Matty is as good as anyone — thorough, skilled, and always focused on getting the finish right. Off the tools, he's the reason VCS has built a following far beyond Kent.
